OUR FOUNDER

Meet Misty

I’ve always believed the most memorable gifts are the ones that carry a story—something that connects us to a place, a person, or a meaningful moment.

That belief inspired me to create a shop where the creativity, craftsmanship, and spirit of Arizona could be celebrated in one welcoming space.

I personally curate our collection by seeking out talented local makers, independent artisans, and small businesses from across the state. Every product is selected for its quality, character, and ability to capture a little of what makes Arizona so special.

From handcrafted home décor and comfortable apparel to locally made foods and one-of-a-kind gifts, I’m proud to bring together items that feel both thoughtful and distinctly Arizona.

My hope is that every visit helps you discover something meaningful—whether you’re treating yourself, celebrating someone special, or sharing a piece of Arizona with someone you love.

The Meaning Behind “85”

The name 85 Local is a nod to the heart of Arizona itself — our ZIP codes. While not every ZIP code in the state begins with 85, most Arizona communities share those two numbers at the start, and we loved the idea of celebrating that connection. It’s our way of saying: no matter where you’re from, if your ZIP starts with 85, you’re part of the story.
